• What is Pandemic EBT?

    • It is money to buy food that replaces the school meals missed while schools have been closed or operating with reduced hours due to the pandemic.

    • Money is provided on an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

    • It is administered to schools that were closed or on remote learning for 5 or more consecutive days.

What is the intent of the program?

    • To help families with school age children during the pandemic

    • Similar to other federal programs, P-EBT was put in place to provide assistance and relief to families struggling to make ends meet during Covid-19.

    • Strategies were implemented to get benefits to families as quickly as possible without requiring families to take action.
