• Dear Wellpinit Community,

It is that time again for school to start!  I hope you have all had a fantastic summer.  Things have been busy here at Wellpinit Middle School and High School, but we are ready for the kids to be back!

We are very excited about the direction we are headed and a big thanks goes out to each of you for your support and help throughout the process.  Having a community who cares about our students, shows their support, and continuous involvement is a driving factor in our success.  We take pride in our work thus far and will continue to work to provide every individual student with an education that makes them college and career ready.

One priority we’ve had the last few years is to make sure we are doing things well.  We’ve focused on programs that best provide for our students and worked to get very good at them.  As we move forward we will continue with this focus while looking at additional programs we can add to help build a well-rounded student and individual when their time here is done.

This upcoming school year we are proud to continue our partnership with the Language Department to provide Salish instruction to the High School and add the Middle School.  We will have Art and Music K-12, as well as the AVID elective class in grades 7 through 12.  Our woodshop is open again and we’ve added sections to allow more students the opportunity to enroll in that course.

At the Middle School we are bringing in a new Personalized Learning Platform for all students on Chromebooks that every student will be operating.  We’d like to say a special Thank You to the Spokane Tribal Network for helping us meet our 1 to 1 technology goal in the Middle School, providing every student with a Chromebook at school.  The new Platform will be used in English, Math, Science, and History.  Our teachers went through a rigorous week long training and continue their planning and preparation this month to best provide for all students this upcoming school year.

Finally, I want to invite you to come in and see us at any time during the 2016-2017 school year.  We love to show off what is going on in our building and we hope that you can be a part of it.  If you ever feel like volunteering in a classroom, at lunch, or anywhere else, please don’t hesitate to contact us.  We want you to see the great things going on in the classrooms, experience the friendly and family environment, and be a part of our amazing journey we are on.

Again, I thank you for everything thus far and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our students.  My door is always open and your feedback is always welcome.  I hope you enjoy the rest of this summer and can’t wait to see everyone on August 23rd at our Back to School Breakfast.
