Welcome Back Information
August 29, 2025
Dear Families,
Hello everyone! We hope you are looking forward to the start of the 25-26 School Year! As we prepare for the upcoming school year, we want to share some important updates and policy changes that are designed to better support our students’ academic success, well-being, and overall school experience.
Updated Cell Phone Policy
The Wellpinit School District is now a NO CELL PHONE school district. In an effort to minimize distractions and improve learning outcomes, we will be implementing a new cell phone policy.
Students will be expected to TURN IN their phones to the front office during school hours (exception: Open Doors - see policy for specific procedure).
All communication regarding your child can go through the front office; this process will ensure our staff are able to deliver a prompt message to students.
Our goal is to create a focused and respectful learning environment for all students. There are accommodations, details can be found in the updated policy (located on our website). Accommodations may include - athletic trips, individual health plans, etc.
Revised Athletic Code of Conduct
We’ve updated our Athletic Code to promote sportsmanship, accountability, and health among our student-athletes.
The revised code outlines clearer expectations around attendance and behavior. Coaches will go through the code with student-athletes to review these updates, along with other requirements, in detail at the start of the sports seasons.
Parents/guardians, please read the code with your child as well, they will be bringing it home for a parent /guardian signature.
Strengthening Partnerships with HHS
We’re focused and committed to supporting our students’ emotional well-being. One way we have built in support into the school day is through the expanded partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
This collaboration will increase student access to mental health support, family resources, and school-based health services. We believe these supports will help meet the needs of the whole child and strengthen our school community.
Together, we're working on building a Peer to Peer mental health ambassador program. We’re also continuing to provide space and time for students and their HHS counselor to have individual counseling at school. We will provide transportation to a student who wishes to participate in counseling at the HHS building.
New course offerings
We are excited to announce our expanded course offerings at the Middle/High School. Along with the courses we have previously offered, we now have Intro to Construction, Business Communication, Business Marketing, and Health Science and Anatomy and Physiology. These are all Career & Technical Education (CTE) classes! We will also be connecting career pathway development with a Tribal enterprises focus.
We understand that change can bring questions, and we are here to support you. More details about each of these changes will be shared at K-12 Open House (September 18, 5-7 pm) and through upcoming newsletters, family meetings, and our school website. If you have any immediate questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly.
Thank you for your support, partnership, and commitment to our students. Together, we are building a stronger, more supportive school community.
Thank you,
